Bewbush Resident Scoops over £3 million in Scratch Card Win
National Lottery winner Stuart Hunt has won a life changing £3.6 million from a scratch card win. Hunt has three children and is a resident in Bewbesh. The winning item was purchased at a newsagents located at Dorsten Square, Bewbush were the lucky winner often frequents.
A shop worker from the newsagent’s named Martin’s, commented. “Good luck to him. I’ve heard he’s a family man so good on him.” said Jobe Rogers, aged 19. The shop has previous sold winning tickets although none rivalling such a significant amount.
Rogers is also a local to the area and commented, “I have served quite a few Lottery winners – but never that much money. Someone won £450 and another won £1,000 on a scratchcard. It’s nice to see the look on their faces. We’ll probably get more people buying Lottery tickets here now.”
One local resident commented, “I really feel pleased that someone local has won it.They will be able to do stuff they couldn’t do before. It is going to make all their dreams come true,” and then added, “I play the lottery sometimes – normally if it’s a big rollover. I’ve only ever won small amounts – £10 or £20,” Julie Poole said, “But it’s no good being jealous about it.”
Another local resident, Richard Kail thought the win was positive as it proved a Lottery jackpot could come anyone’s way. He said, “I have played the lottery every week since I was 16 and I buy scratch cards when I’ve got a spare pound. I have just bought a Lottery ticket and got a weird feeling it could be a lucky place.”
The 17 year also said, “I work at WHSmith at Gatwick and served someone who’d won £360. They were beaming. I don’t know how I’d react if I won. At first I would want to keep it to myself, but I know that after time I’d want to tell someone.”
Another passerby, who comes to work in the area and visits the newsagent, remarked on the winner returning to work following the win, saying “I don’t think I would have gone back to work – I would have cashed the cheque that day,” the 26 year old went on to say, “I have played the Lottery but never won a penny. I know where I’ll be buying my Lottery tickets in future.”
